Chairman and Founder


Murdo Wallace

Murdo is accepted as one of the most knowledgeable exponents in exercise referral and the developing specialist areas. He formulated the first medically led and approved exercise referral qualification in conjunction with leading medical, sports medicine, physiology, sport scientists and universities.

The WRIGHT Foundation, of which Murdo is also Chairman and Founder, is the UK market-leading exercise referral organisation, providing both exercise referral and specialist qualifications.

Murdo has a long-standing, professional interest in exercise and activity and the effect it can have on health and well-being and believes in recruiting the most highly motivated, quality foremost scientists and lecturers in this accepted new science, for the benefit of all mankind.

Peter Wright

Peter also holds a Senior Lectureship in Sports Medicine with the University of Chemnitz, Germany. In 2003 he was a recipient of the Wilhelm and Gunter Esser Award for Outstanding Young Scientists in Germany.

He is English born, now spending his time in Cornwall, England, Dundee, Scotland and Chemnitz, Germany.

Peter was appointed a full Director of the charity in 2009

Henry Shulz

Prof Schulz has an MSc in Sport Science from the German University of Sport Science in Cologne, followed by studies and a MD in human medicine at the University of Cologne.

After working at a hospital in the cardiac and orthopaedic rehabilitation department, Professor Schulz took up a position as a Senior Lecturer in Sports Medicine first with the University of Munster and then as a reader with the Ruhr University Bochum, where he qualified as a professor. He is now Head of the Sports Medicine and Sport Biology department personal chair of the School of Sport and Exercise Science at the Technical University Chemnitz.

Besides his various research and vocational activities he is also the director of the medical support of the German Olympic squads based at Germany’s second largest Centre of Excellence [Olympic Centre Chemnitz/Dresden].

Professor Schulz himself used to be an elite athlete in middle distance running and still actively participates in sports. His publication list underlines his expertise in various areas of sports science and medicine.

Güenter Tidow

Güenter Tidow holds a full Professorship at the Humboldt-University Berlin since 1995. He is Head of the Department of Movement and Training Science at the Institute of Sport Science.

As a former decathlete and national decathlon coach, one of his major research areas is technique training and conditioning in athletics.

A further area of research is primary prevention by means of physical activity and training, addressing first graders as well as the elderly.
